Tétradrachme en billon de l'Empire romain frappé pour Macrin entre 217 et 218, dans la série syro-phénicienne, attribué à l'atelier de Séleucie. Préfet du prétoire, Macrin fut proclamé empereur en avril 217 après l'assassinat de Caracalla.

Avers : buste lauré, drapé et cuirassé de Macrin à droite. Légende ΑΥΤ·Κ·Μ·ΟΠ·ΣΕ ΜΑΚΡΙΝΟΣ ΣΕΒ (L'empereur César Marcus Opellius Sévère Macrin Auguste).

Revers : aigle debout à gauche, les ailes déployées, la tête et la queue tournées à droite, tenant une couronne perlée dans le bec, un symbole sous ses pattes. Légende ΔΗΜΑΡΧ·ΕΞ ΥΠΑΤΟ (Détenteur de la puissance tribunicienne, consul).

Conservation : TTB. Usure légère des reliefs sur les deux faces. Patine grise.

Syro-Phoenician billon tetradrachm of Macrinus, attributed to Seleucia, with his laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right and an eagle with spread wings holding a wreath in its beak. Macrinus was proclaimed emperor in April 217.
