Double tournois en cuivre frappé en France en 1642 sous Louis XIII, à l'atelier de La Rochelle (lettre H). Le double tournois valait deux deniers tournois. Le roi meurt l'année suivante, en mai 1643.

Avers : tête laurée de Louis XIII à gauche, cheveux longs, couronne de laurier nouée d'un ruban. Légende LVD·XIII·D·G·FR·ET·NAV·REX (Louis XIII, par la grâce de Dieu, roi de France et de Navarre).

Revers : trois lis posés 2 et 1 au centre du champ, la lettre d'atelier H en tête de légende. Légende H·DOVBLE·TOVRNOIS·1642 (H - Double tournois - 1642).

Conservation : TTB. Patine brune, superbe portrait.

Copper double tournois of Louis XIII of France, struck at La Rochelle (mint letter H) in 1642, with the king's laureate head left on the obverse and three lilies on the reverse. Louis XIII died the following year, in 1643.
